Check-in On Your Check-ups
Part of a healthy and fit lifestyle includes check-ups–medical, dental, orthodontic, optometrist–and keeping to the schedule of when, where and what needs to happen for whom can be overwhelming to say the least! Parents are often diligent about making sure their little tykes get the medical attention they need and are less obliging when it comes to fitting in our own visits. Just like with nutrition and fitness, kids learn by example. Teach them the value of check-ups, regular doctor, dental and eye check-ups as well as routine tests that guard against disease by doing it yourself. Ask your health care provider to give you a detailed list of what needs to be done when so you can plan accordingly. Talk to your kids about tests you’re having done and why they’re important. Take good care of your family–take good care of you.
