More Than Exercise
Leading a healthy and fit lifestyle is more than just a few work outs a week and better nutrition. Injecting activity into the way you live will make you happier and healthier and will teach your kids how important movement is from the beginning. You know the family I’m talking about — the one that always has their bikes in the driveway, a pick-up game of basketball going on and the soccer net waiting to be defended. Their swing set is being climbed on and their roller blades don’t just collect dust. You may often wonder how they have the luxury of such time to spend “playing”. The fact of the matter is, they’re likely just as busy as the rest of us, they just prioritize differently. Instead of catching a television show after school/work, they head right out to shoot hoops. On a Saturday afternoon they don’t squeeze in a movie, they go for a hike. Utilize the time you have with your kids to chose an activity that gets you moving. The time you spend together will reinforce the value and importance of moving as well as the give you all quality family time together that will serve you all well.
